SUGGESTED TAROT BOOKS

•Alejandro Jodorowsky, L’Art du Tarot, in the site http://www.camoin.com. Very good.
•Alain Bocher, Les Cahiers du Tarot vols 1-3. Dourdan, éditions Partage, 1989 and 1990.
•Alain Bocher, Les Cahiers du Tarot volume 4. Paris, Guy Trédaniel, 1996. Bocher's works are quite interesting.
•Jean-Pierre Bayard, La Pratique du Tarot. Dangles, 1987. A good reference book.
•Stuart R. Kaplan, The Encyclopedia of Tarot, 3 volumes. Stamford, US Games Systems, 1978, 1986, 1990. As the name says, encyclopedical. Very good.
•Paul Marteau, Le Tarot de Marseille. Arts et Métiers, 1949. Of historical interest. The author and Grimaud editions (under him at the time) were important in disseminating the use of the Marseille deck.
•Anonymous, Méditations sur les 22 arcanes majeurs du tarot. Paris, Aubier, 1984. Excellent.
•Papus, Le Tarot des Bohémiens (1911). Dangles, many editions. Of historical interest.
•Oswald Wirth, Le Tarot des Imagiers du Moyen Age. Tchou, 1966. Of historical interest.
•Arthur Edward Waite, The pictorial key to the Tarot. Samuel Weiser, 1973. Of historical interest.
•Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene, The Mythic Tarot. Simon & Schuster, 1987. A good way to learn to use the Tarot deck and to memorize the basic meanings of all the Major and Minor Arcana, notwithstanding the inevitable distortions and oversimplifications that come from the superposition of a different symbolic system.
•Paul Foster Case, The Tarot: A Key to the Wisdom of the Ages. Richmond, Macoy Publishing Company, 1947. An excellent analysis of the Tarot, written by an outstanding American Occultist.
•Robert Wang, The Qabalistic Tarot: A Textbook of Mystical Philosophy. Samuel Weiser, 1983. An excellent study on the Tarot/Qabalah interface, written by a friend and pupil of the late Israel Regardie.
•David Allen Hulse, New Dimensions for the Cube of Space. Samuel Weiser, 2000. A very interesting study that explores the spiritual message concealed in the tarological interpretation of the Cube described by the Sepher Yetzirah.
•Francesco de Biasi, L'Énergie du Tarot. Paris, Grancher, 2004. An excellent book on the Magical and Occult uses of the Tarot, written under a pseudonym by an important exponent of the Western Occult Tradition.
